K-Line Container Vessel Summary
"K" Line is best known in the United
States for their Container vessels. The distinctive red "K" Line containers can
be seen throughout the United States on ships, double-stack trains and trucks. While these
containers provide high visibility for "K" Line throughout the world,
"K" Line also has fleets of car carriers, grain carriers, bulk carriers and
tankers. Below is a brief description of the "K" Line containership fleet.

Container Ships
"K" Line currently has a fleet of 80 container ships*,
both owned and chartered, which transport containers to and from ports in
the U.S., Asia, and Europe.
Eight new 4,000teu containerships entered into service from the end of 2004 to early 2005 to cope with increasing global cargo movements, and our future plans includes 5 new 5,500 teu in 2006; 8 new 8,000 teu plus 8 new 1,700 teu between the period 2006 to 2009.
Containers vary in size from 20 foot to 45 foot high cube. You can ship
complete containers or participate in LCL (Less than Container Load) shipments,
where the goods of different shippers are combined into containers. |
