New Containership Building Program

May 8, 2006 -Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (“K” Line) is proud to announce that it has decided to place new orders for 5 vessels of 6400TEU type, which will enable “K” Line to make further improvements in its service quality and competitiveness in East-West trades.

“K” Line wishes to further encourage even better service quality by replacing some existing older and smaller tonnage.

These new building orders were placed with Imabari Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (Koyo Dockyard Co., Ltd.) in Japan and are to be delivered by mid 2010.
