To Our Valued Ro-Ro Customers:
Argentine Customs previously announced a new Resolution Nbr: 2744/2009 requiring additional data to be provided on the Bill of Lading and customs manifest. Please note that this new Argentinian Custom Resolution started enforcement effective on 08/23/2010 for the 11 digit Taxpayer Identification Number and 09/03/2010 for the 6 digit Harmonized Tariff Code (HTS) or Harmonized System Code of Mercosur (NCM). The Resolution has recently clarified the requirements for the 6 digit HTS/NCM code. Please note that for bills that declare 2 or more HTS/NCM codes the highest value code must clearly be indicated. To comply with this requirement “K” Line will begin indicating the highest value code within the Description of Goods in the body of the bill of lading.
The requirements are as follows:
- The 11 digit Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (C.U.I.T.) must be provided for the Consignee.
- In the case of “To Order” or “To Order of Bank”, the C.U.I.T. is not required.
- The 6 digit Harmonized Tariff Code (HTS) or Harmonized System Code of Mercosur (NCM) must be provided
for each commodity.
- In the case where there are 2 or more HTS/NCM codes declared the highest value code must clearly be indicated.
- In the case of NVOCC or Consolidator shipments where you will issue a separate HBL to your customer,
the cargo must be declared as a consolidated shipment cargo.
- The clause ‘Consolidated Cargo’ must be included on the BL instructions.
- The Agent who will manage the deconsolidation in Argentina must be declared, and the C.U.I.T. must
be provided.
- In the case of cargo that will move In-Transit to another destination country by the cargo owner:
- The clause ‘Cargo In Transit To xxxxx’ must be declared in the commodity description.
- The C.U.I.T. of the agent who will arrange the transshipment must be declared.
*** Note – if “K” Line will arrange the transshipment, we will provide the C.U.I.T. number. If the Transshipment will be arranged by the cargo owner, you must provide the C.U.I.T. of your agent who will arrange the transshipment for you.
- In the case of temporary importation of a tourist car for a non Argentine citizen, the Passport Number and Country of the Consignee must be provided.
